Collage page

This spread started out as a rather ugly page. It had some magazine images glued down, painted over, and doodled on, but I hated it. (if you have been stopping by often you will begin to see a pattern, I’m down with covering up pages I hate to make room for ones I love. πŸ™‚ If you are new to my blog, welcome!, and now you know! ;P) I’ve had some blank mixed media papers on my desk for a while, to use as color testers, brush blotters, ink remains remover, and so on, and today I decided to cut them up and put them in my journal! The papers had that cool, unintentionally-chaotic-mess-but-looks-awesome thing that happens when you aren’t trying (and that you can’t get when you really want to lol). So into the journal they went, covering up a spread I hated with one that I loved instantly. I heart when that happens!! I added some bits and pieces from my scrap paper box along with some decorative tape down the seam to hold it all together and strengthen the spine. I also used my recently carved hexagon stamp with StazOn ink to add some more black to the pages. A few letter stickers, some that spell “Go and be yourself” on the left, and others just tumbling down the top of the right page, and its done!

I am in love with the honeycomb/hexagon shapes that are everywhere right now and I finally had to make my own. I was going to make a bunch of honeycomb (if that makes sense) originally but eventually opted for a single hexagon that I can use to make any honeycomb shape I want! Its not perfect but I think that adds to its charm πŸ™‚

A couple other pages I have been working on recently:

A before and after of a page made with a new stencil I bought:

And an older page that finally got some details and letters:

And speaking of grow, I saw some pretty, tiny flowers outside this morning and had to get some pics.

Thanks for stopping by!!

About kittyisnotamused

I am an eclectic crafter whose hobbies currently include knitting, crochet, making journals, cooking, and quilting, although I have also been addicted to jewelry making, scrapbooking, sewing, and many others. My passion for creating runs a wide gamut and jumps back and forth from new hobbies to old often. I live with my hubby and our 3 pets: 1 grown puppy with the attention span of a goldfish, and 2 lazy chubby kitties. Kitties who, despite my best efforts to gain their enthusiasm, show no interest in what I'm working on except to lay on whatever it is occasionally. The hubby's reactions are better, which is why he gets many handmade items and the kitties only a few, but his reactions are usually confused smiles and nods with "thats great sweety!" The dog shows the most enthusiasm but mostly that translates into her trying to snot and eat whatever I am showing to her... I suppose thats just life tho :) Thanks for stopping in, feel free to leave a comment!
