New journal pages

I have been working in my art journal a bit, while I decide how I want to paint the flowers on the canvas I have been working on. After some paint and ink, I went through my stash of bits and pieces and found some tags I had saved. The pages don’t really have a theme, but they make me happy with how they turned out. Sometimes I just need to play without having a goal or direction in mind 🙂

Here are a couple of other pages I have been working on too:

The blue and green pages still need more doodles, and the lyrics in the sticker labels are from P!nk’s new song “Blow me (one last kiss) which I really like. The other two have been mostly test places for leftover paint or different techniques, and I really like how they look! I only have a few (about 20) pages left in my art journal. I know it sounds like a lot but they seem to fill up fast. (although, I do have a tendency to paint over pages a lot, so I technically have more than just the blank pages left…) I have already been thinking about how I want to make my next journal, what kind of cover, what kind of papers…. Making journals can get addicting very quickly lol! The one I have been using I made from found and recycled papers including paper bag, envelopes, mixed media paper, and some scrapbook papers that I stitched together with chipboard covers using the coptic stitch. I still need to decorate the cover but I’m saving that for last. I think I’m going to use some caulking and add some “touch me” texture, inspired by St. John’s Studio here and here and here…. so excited!!

I have a few handmade journals in my Etsy shop if you are looking for a cute new art or sketch journal 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day!

About kittyisnotamused

I am an eclectic crafter whose hobbies currently include knitting, crochet, making journals, cooking, and quilting, although I have also been addicted to jewelry making, scrapbooking, sewing, and many others. My passion for creating runs a wide gamut and jumps back and forth from new hobbies to old often. I live with my hubby and our 3 pets: 1 grown puppy with the attention span of a goldfish, and 2 lazy chubby kitties. Kitties who, despite my best efforts to gain their enthusiasm, show no interest in what I'm working on except to lay on whatever it is occasionally. The hubby's reactions are better, which is why he gets many handmade items and the kitties only a few, but his reactions are usually confused smiles and nods with "thats great sweety!" The dog shows the most enthusiasm but mostly that translates into her trying to snot and eat whatever I am showing to her... I suppose thats just life tho :) Thanks for stopping in, feel free to leave a comment!
