I carved a few new stamps over the last couple of days, and I’m pretty happy with them! I LOVE the new stamp carving set I got from Speedball with the smaller tips, its so much easy to get more details in the stamp with them! With carving your own stamps, I love how you can be as free as you want. If you see something and think “that would make a cool stamp” you can make it happen! So awesome!
(the tree/ flower with a stem looking one is supposed to be a dandelion fluff. Not as easy to draw and carve as I thought it would be) I have found when I sit down to carve stamps, I have more of a “blank page” block than I do when journaling When I decided I wanted to carve stamps I had all these ideas of what I wanted to make, then I sat down with the tools and the rubber, and my mind was like “um…..” I think I need to start writing ideas down that I want to make into stamps. Or better yet drawing them out right then, as that would probably be easier to understand rather than trying to remember what I meant when I said “doodle tree” or “swirly arrow”. But I’m happy with the ones I made so far, and I still have a lot of the rubber left to make more 🙂
If you have made your own rubber stamps, I would love to see them! Just leave a link in the comments and I’ll check them out!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your holidays are shaping up to be great!
