Some new stamps

I carved a few new stamps over the last couple of days, and I’m pretty happy with them! I LOVE the new stamp carving set I got from Speedball with the smaller tips, its so much easy to get more details in the stamp with them! With carving your own stamps, I love how you can be as free as you want. If you see something and think “that would make a cool stamp” you can make it happen! So awesome!

(the tree/ flower with a stem looking one is supposed to be a dandelion fluff. Not as easy to draw and carve as I thought it would be) I have found when I sit down to carve stamps, I have more of a “blank page” block than I do when journaling :/ When I decided I wanted to carve stamps I had all these ideas of what I wanted to make, then I sat down with the tools and the rubber, and my mind was like “um…..” I think I need to start writing ideas down that I want to make into stamps. Or better yet drawing them out right then, as that would probably be easier to understand rather than trying to remember what I meant when I said “doodle tree” or “swirly arrow”.  But I’m happy with the ones I made so far, and I still have a lot of the rubber left to make more 🙂

If you have made your own rubber stamps, I would love to see them! Just leave a link in the comments and I’ll check them out!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your holidays are shaping up to be great!

About kittyisnotamused

I am an eclectic crafter whose hobbies currently include knitting, crochet, making journals, cooking, and quilting, although I have also been addicted to jewelry making, scrapbooking, sewing, and many others. My passion for creating runs a wide gamut and jumps back and forth from new hobbies to old often. I live with my hubby and our 3 pets: 1 grown puppy with the attention span of a goldfish, and 2 lazy chubby kitties. Kitties who, despite my best efforts to gain their enthusiasm, show no interest in what I'm working on except to lay on whatever it is occasionally. The hubby's reactions are better, which is why he gets many handmade items and the kitties only a few, but his reactions are usually confused smiles and nods with "thats great sweety!" The dog shows the most enthusiasm but mostly that translates into her trying to snot and eat whatever I am showing to her... I suppose thats just life tho :) Thanks for stopping in, feel free to leave a comment!
