Faces and bodies

I am absolutely LOVING the “Supplies me” drawing class I’m taking from the awesome Jane Davenport! I’ve been doing more drawing than almost anything else the last few days, and I love how I can look back through my sketch books and see the improvement little by little. Jane makes learning to draw fun and easy, and she and the other class participants are very supportive and wonderful! I drew my first real full bodied person the other day, and I was amazed at how easy it was, following her guidance and instruction! So exciting! Here’s some of what I’ve been working on ๐Ÿ™‚

Drawing on gesso is a lot different than drawing on plain paper. I’m still getting used to it and as of right now, I can’t say that I like it. I will give it a few more go’s tho, and see how I feel then. The images above are a mix of gesso’d paper and plain.

I bought a few prismacolor pencils yesterday, and the difference between them and regular colored pencils is huge! The prismas are amazing and I ordered a bigger set of them, I can’t waitย until they get here!! They blend together so much easier and smoother than regular pencils, making shading so much easier. I still have so much I need to practice and work on, but I am looking forward to every minute of it!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

About kittyisnotamused

I am an eclectic crafter whose hobbies currently include knitting, crochet, making journals, cooking, and quilting, although I have also been addicted to jewelry making, scrapbooking, sewing, and many others. My passion for creating runs a wide gamut and jumps back and forth from new hobbies to old often. I live with my hubby and our 3 pets: 1 grown puppy with the attention span of a goldfish, and 2 lazy chubby kitties. Kitties who, despite my best efforts to gain their enthusiasm, show no interest in what I'm working on except to lay on whatever it is occasionally. The hubby's reactions are better, which is why he gets many handmade items and the kitties only a few, but his reactions are usually confused smiles and nods with "thats great sweety!" The dog shows the most enthusiasm but mostly that translates into her trying to snot and eat whatever I am showing to her... I suppose thats just life tho :) Thanks for stopping in, feel free to leave a comment!
