New faces

I am still having a wonderful time drawing faces and figures, and besides building a puzzle, that is pretty much all I have been doing lately. (with some occasional house work thrown in 😛 )

Turned face practice turned face practice cont

The two drawings above were done on gelli prints, and I love how the prints still show through the drawings 🙂

Babys black balloon

This is a figure I drew, inspired by the song “Black balloon” by the Goo Goo Dolls. I drew it on regular sketch paper, and when it was done I liked it so much that I cut it out to use in my art journal. I did scan it into the computer before cutting it out, just in case I want to use it again in future pages.

Babys black balloon art journal page

For the journal page I used gesso, acrylic paint, watercolors, india ink in a waterbrush, white gell pen, cutout image done with prismacolor pencils, and gell medium.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

About kittyisnotamused

I am an eclectic crafter whose hobbies currently include knitting, crochet, making journals, cooking, and quilting, although I have also been addicted to jewelry making, scrapbooking, sewing, and many others. My passion for creating runs a wide gamut and jumps back and forth from new hobbies to old often. I live with my hubby and our 3 pets: 1 grown puppy with the attention span of a goldfish, and 2 lazy chubby kitties. Kitties who, despite my best efforts to gain their enthusiasm, show no interest in what I'm working on except to lay on whatever it is occasionally. The hubby's reactions are better, which is why he gets many handmade items and the kitties only a few, but his reactions are usually confused smiles and nods with "thats great sweety!" The dog shows the most enthusiasm but mostly that translates into her trying to snot and eat whatever I am showing to her... I suppose thats just life tho :) Thanks for stopping in, feel free to leave a comment!

  1. Wow, these are great! You have convinced me I need to take a Jane Davenport class. My birthday is in a few weeks, and it’s officially on my list!

    • I am really loving her classes! She explains things in a way that I get, and it makes it so much easier than other drawing classes I have tried. Plus I am more of a visual person, so being able to watch as she demonstrates a technique is wonderful for me! And with her class being online, you can go back and re-watch the videos as much as you want/need to!
